CLUB RULES
Dress
Casual clothing (shorts/leggings and T-Shirt) can be worn.
No need for whites! Only rubber soled tennis shoes
please. Please try not to wear running shoes with
ribbed soles, as these may damage the court surface.
Floodlights
All the three courts currently have floodlights. Tokens can be purchased from the Athletic club bar at £1.20
for 30 minutes. Please note that if the lights are allowed to go out it can take up to 20 minutes for them to come
back on. This can be avoided by the players involved keeping the lights on by feeding the meter.
Access to the courts
Access to the courts is by means of a combination lock. The number will be sent by the Membership Secretary once the
membership application form has been received. It is changed to a new number on the 1st May. Please do not pass the
number onto anyone. Members will also receive a shoe tag that should be worn at all times when on court to demonstrate
that they are a paid up member.
Club Hut
The club hut is at the centre of the club activities and keys can be organised for a small charge through the
Secretary. It contains the club notice board which is designed to keep you up to date with club
activities, tournaments, membership offers, social events, tennis magazines, newsletters, committee
minutes, etc. A First Aid box is also available in the hut. If it is used please record the reason on the sheet provided.
Visitors
Members are welcome to invite non-members to play at club sessions. A member wishing to invite a non-member to play at
other times should reserve a court in advance to avoid disappointment. Visitors are limited to playing on five
occasions only and are expected to dress appropriately. Members inviting non-members to play must pay a £3
visitor fee to the Treasurer. Visitors fees will be refunded if membership is subsequently taken out.
